President Trump says he’s already ended several conflicts around the globe and is working to conclude several more. We look at his approach to foreign policy. AILSA CHANG, HOST: President Trump says he has already ended several conflicts around the globe and that he is working to conclude several more. He’s doing that by applying his love of cutting deals to global relationships. Like, take the war between Russia and Ukraine. Just this week, he threw his support behind a deal for new weapons for Ukrainian defense. But this is what he said when he was asked if the decision…
Americans on space race support Americans on whether the U.S. should return to the moon, travel to Mars 06:57 There is a lot of public favor for the idea of the U.S. returning to the moon, and also for eventually going to Mars. About two-thirds do, while a third does not. Younger Americans who are not old enough to remember the first moon landing are especially in favor, perhaps looking forward to seeing that exploration in their lifetimes. These views generally cut across ideological and party lines, as well. The first moon landing in 1969 continues to loom large in…

It alleges the paper’s claims were “false, defamatory, unsubstantiated, and disparaging,” and accuses the Journal of “clear journalistic failures.”The paper claimed the letter, from the early 2000s, featured Mr. Trump’s signature as well as a birthday message and a drawing…
Los Angeles — One construction site in Los Angeles has just about everything needed to build a traditional family home. Everything, that is, except enough workers. “We have probably three people on site, four people on site, and normally, we’d have about double, about eight to 10 people,” general contractor Jason Pietruszka told CBS News. “They’re hiding. People aren’t will to coming to work.” Pietruszka said he only hires builders here in the country legally, but that he also relies on companies that employ highly skilled, undocumented labor. Many of those workers are now no-shows because they are fearful of the ramped-up…
Progressive Caucus chair Greg Casar warns that a move to redraw Texas congressional districts will undermine democracy in the Lone Star State and beyond. Ad Policy Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Greg Casar.(Bill Clark / CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images) President Trump and his Republican cronies are aware that their “One Big Beautiful Bill” is polling miserably with an electorate that, by most accounts, really hates it when the government guts Medicaid and anti-hunger programs in order to fund tax cuts for billionaires. The unpopularity of the GOP’s signature legislative effort could spell disaster for the party’s efforts to maintain…

House Republicans delivered a major victory to President Trump early Friday, passing Trump’s rescissions bill that claws back $9 billion in funds already approved for public media and foreign aid. STEVE INSKEEP, HOST: A narrow majority in Congress took another step in ceding their power to the president.MICHEL MARTIN, HOST: The Constitution gives Congress authority over government spending. But at the president’s request, they overturned spending they’d previously agreed to for foreign aid and public broadcasting. The request was more of a demand. He’d threatened consequences for lawmakers who didn’t go along. Some voted in favor while publicly expressing concern…
